Ludhiana, May 10
To revive the state industry and infuse life into sick units, Minister for Industry and Commerce Sunder Sham Arora said the state government would soon introduce a one-time settlement policy.
Addressing industrialists during his maiden visit to the industrial hub of the state, the minister said thousands of units got shut down in the state “due to the wrong policies of the previous SAD-BJP government”.
He said the government led by Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh was committed to reviving the industries in Punjab and a one-settlement policy was just the first step towards it.
Calling industrialists the backbone of Punjab’s development, Arora said the state government had introduced a new industrial policy which was set to bring investments worth Rs 60,000 crore. — TNS
