Will contest LS poll, says Ghubaya

Muktsar: Ferozepur MP Sher Singh Ghubaya, who is keeping a low profile after his son Davinder Singh Ghubaya joined the Congress in 2016 and became the Fazilka MLA, on Thursday visited Muktsar and announced that he would contest the coming General Elections. He, however, did not reveal whether he would contest the election on SAD or Congress ticket. Ghubaya was at the residence of Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal’s cousin Jagjit Singh ‘Honey Fattanwala’. When asked whether he would contest as a SAD or Congress nominee, he said, “Undoubtedly, I will contest the election. The SAD has not yet expelled me. The time will decide it. My son is a Congress MLA.” Notably, Muktsar Assembly constituency is the part of Ferozepur parliamentary constituency. Asked whether his visit was part of his election campaign, Ghubaya said, “Earlier, I had come here to thank people after winning the election. When I had come again, the local SAD leadership at that time did not want me to visit some villages. I have given water tanks in almost all villages falling under this constituency. I have come to meet villagers and give water tanks so that the area residents do not complain that I remained absent from the area.” TNS
